I'm a software developer with a keen interest in photography. I really enjoy the work of photographers
who put in the effort to get something unique, something that you can't just walk by and grab. Check out
my links section for a few links to photographers of this ilk if this sounds like your cup of tea.
The photos you see on this site were taken with a mix of Nikon equipment, none of it the cutting edge
or immensely expensive. I mainly use a D200, but had my old D70 as a backup, and largely use my trusty
12-24mm lens.
I really do agree with the common sentiment that you'll see on sites for people like Bruce Percy or
Ken Rockwell that good gear isn't the be all and end all in getting good photos. Of course the quality
of the gear matters, but a tack sharp photo of a boring composition is still a boring photo. The saying
goes 'f / 8 and be there' - in other words, to get great photos, get out there and put yourself in the situations
where the prime opportunities are.
Anyway, that's enough ramble from me. I'm no professional, just someone who enjoys good photography
and likes to try his hand at it when he can. If it's a slow day at work, or for some other reason you
want to get in touch, you can email me at
